Eligibility:

• Current high school seniors, or the equivalent, who are citizens of the United States, are eligible to apply.
• Applicants do not need to be related to a member of the Elks.
• High school graduates are not eligible to apply.
• Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are submitted; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.

Eligibility

To be eligible, a student must be:

• A high school senior and/or expecting to receive a high school diploma during the current academic year.
• An active member in good standing of a National Honor Society chapter, meeting all membership requirements and obligations of the local chapter.
• An NHS student account holder, verified by the NHS chapter adviser.
• Planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. college or university.

The scholarship amount is $1,000 and will be awarded based on academic merit and submission of a short essay to be titled How the U.S. Credit Scoring System Can Be Improved.

To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Minimum GPA of 3.5

The major of study must support a career in the finance industry (e.g., finance, business, accounting, mathematics, management, and other related majors)

Must be a US resident

Must attach an official, signed transcript

Must be a current or future college student (e.g., high school senior)

Scholarship must go to tuition purposes (will be paid directly to the university/college)

Complete an essay for submission (see essay guidelines below)

Include contact information with the essay so we can get in touch with the winners

Details about the scholarship:

• Deadline: Friday, January 30, 2026, by 4:00 p.m. (including both letters of reference). There are no exceptions to this deadline.
• Approximately 10 students across the State of Wisconsin will be chosen to each receive a scholarship of $2,500. This scholarship is stackable and will be applied directly toward the students' tuition via the BBB of Wisconsin Foundation.
• At least two of the scholarships will be awarded to students attending a Wisconsin-based, two-year college/technical school.
• At least two of the scholarships will be allocated for students in the Milwaukee Public School District.

To be eligible for this scholarship, the student must:

• Be a Wisconsin state resident
• Be a high school senior
• Have at least a 3.0 GPA, or show consistent academic improvement over time
• Plan to attend a Wisconsin-based accredited Higher Education Institution (two or four-year) starting in the fall of 2026
